Common Questions about Selling on Lucasgift
• Question: Why Lucasgift takes 30% commission, isn't that too high?
Answer: Lucasgift needs to cover the cost of doing this business. When you break down the costs, Lucasgift covers: 5% of transaction fees (occurs while customers are buying things and paying sellers via PayPal Payout), 10% of affiliate and referral commissions, Up to 10% of marketing discounts, And with the remaining 5%, we still need to pay for our Staff & Services to run the website.
On other platforms, everyone who makes a living as an online seller should know that, at least 20% is spent on in-site ads. Lucasgift does not have in-site ads, you DON'T need that! It is an evil way off taking sellers' money.
With the transaction fees, payment processing fees, listing fees and many more tiny commissions you are already paying more than 30% in total to other marketplaces.
There are no other fees on Lucasgift, opening and establishing shop is completely Free, no listing fee, no onboarding fee, no membership fee, nothing. You will certainly know how much you are making with this simpler terms!
To earn 10% more, sellers can also join our built-in Affiliate Program and promote their products in order to increase their visibility on the website. So any seller can earn up to 80% of their sales if they succeed to sell through their affiliated links.
• Question: How soon can I get sales after joining Lucasgift?
Answer: Within days! One of our first sellers listed Kamala Keychain on her shop on August 13, 2024 and her first sale was on August 15, 2024! If you have fresh and trendy items, your products can get indexed in Organic search very quickly.
So, with the help of strongly growing reputation of Lucasgift, you can start earning within couple of days.
However, please keep in mind that, sales in higher volumes will come overtime, as your items get more organic in search results, you will get more and more orders everyday.
• Question: What is allowed to sell on Lucasgift?
Answer: First of all, the website is established on Personalized Gifts concept. However, we evolved to include all sorts of hand-crafted and unique items that can be gifted or consumer goods.
So, if you feel like your products can be good fit for Lucasgift in general, you can sell your products here.

• Question: Why there is such rule as "Free Return" even when we are selling personalized goods?
Answer: Lucasgift offers standard Free Shipping & Free Returns on every orders, this is a touchstone to have 100% customer satisfaction for better business together.
We have been applying this rule since mid-2023 and up until August 2024, we never received Return request from any customers.
If you are doing your craft work properly and carefully, none of the customer will ask to return their items, no need to worry about that. In any case, we also got you covered with Luca's Promise terms. Please check that as well.
Please also note that orders with Personalized items are eligible for refund up to $250 in total.
• Question: Will my shop get suspended without any notice or information?
Answer: No! Here on Lucasgift we value every seller and we respect them, their work and efforts are priceless for us. If there is anything wrong with your account, it can be anything from infringing products to other technical issues we detect, we will try to resolve it as humanly as possible. Together we will grow this selling community. We are here to build, not to destroy!
As long as you respect our In-house rules and carefully apply to your everyday selling, you will not have any issues at all. However, people can make mistakes, we will approach every seller gracefully, Lucasgift will never become brutal business.
• Question: What do I need to start selling on Lucasgift?
Answer: You need to have a valid Govt. issued photo ID for our verification step. Every shop owner must sell under their legal name on Lucasgift. Shop names can be anything you would like, but seller name listed on your shop page must match your legal name.
After you get your approval to start listing your products, you also need to create Free Shipstation account to link your Seller account for Order Fulfillment process. Lucasgift does not have built-in shipping label purchasing feature.
Finally, to complete your selling profile, create PayPal account and enter the account info in PROFILE -> Payment Information menu to receive your payments.
Marketing Efforts on Lucasgift (Valid Site-wide)
• First, we have "Exclusive Discount" program for First Responders, Military, Student, Non-profit, and more. Check the page for more details. This program provides 10% discount for qualified buyers.
• Also, we have "Affiliate Program" to drive traffic from our valued collaborators, news and blog websites. This traffic is crucial for solid business model. Our affiliates are getting 10% of each sale that is covered by Lucasgift.
LUCASGIFT MIGHT APPLY OTHER HIDDEN DISCOUNT STRATEGIES.
Question: Who covers the discounts on Lucasgift? Answer: Lucasgift covers the discounts, Sellers are NOT responsible for the discount amounts. Sellers will receive their 70% from the original order amount.
HOWEVER, FREE SHIPPING & FREE RETURN IS COVERED BY SELLERS, SELLERS NEED TO BE MINDFUL FOR THE EXPENSE OF FREE STANDARD SHIPPING WHILE PRICING THEIR PRODUCTS.
We ask sellers to provide their best pricing as much as they can. For the rest, Lucasgift will handle all the marketing and promotions part.
Lucasgift operates ONLY in the US, so, Sellers will not have any customer outside the US. However, non-US sellers are also welcome on the platform as long as PayPal is not restricted in their country.
