The video below shows the raw walnut planks I use to make these phone cases. The wood is over 50 years old, salvaged from an old tree that fell on my Uncle Sammy’s farm. He milled the trunk into lumber, using the finest boards for furniture and passing the rest to me.
Those leftover planks sat in my wood van for three decades—too thin, crooked, and full of knots to be used for much else. But with patience and care, I cut around the imperfections and reveal the beauty hidden inside. Each case is crafted from these culls, turning what was once scrap into something lasting and unique.
